a hat

I needed a quick going-away gift for someone who is moving to northern Vermont - it's going to be cold there in the winter months!

I had a wonderfully quiet Mother's Day and a couple of hours to sit and knit this. It's the Great Meadow's Hat from Green Mountain Spinnery's book "99 yarns". A great pattern for leftovers. I used three shades of Lamb's Pride worsted; plus the blue is Mountain Mohair, fitting I thought, since the yarn is spun in Vermont...

Hope the recipient will like it.

Meanwhile, the garden keeps exploding.
This is the Solomon's Seal I showed you a couple of weeks back. It's now a good 2 feet tall, and about to bloom.

Then we always get these pretty tulips we can't remember planting.

And finally, the lilacs are opening!
