a really quick update

I have been wanting to write about so many things but because so many things have been happening I have not had time to write!

1) the yarn yard sale was a blast and a success, and I thank everyone for coming out and helping out in a myriad of ways. Too bad I now don't have enough stash left for another sale because I really love seeing everyone.

2) my parents have been here for 2 weeks, and they are here for another week. Last Sunday was Tall Son's college graduation and we are now the extremely proud parents of a graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester, NY, who has a job lined up. Here's a goofball picture I love and another one with my parents.

3) this weekend I will be at the Massachusetts sheep and woolfest at Cummington, with Sliver Moon Farm. I hope to see some of you there. Yarn dyeing had come to an almost complete standstill over the last couple of months but this week I managed to dye a few skeins. I will bring watercolors sock yarn.

4) I've been invited to do a yarn bombing downtown and need to go knit for that.

Bye!!

Yarn Yard Sale tomorrow!!!

It's here! The yarn yard sale is almost here.

I've sorted my stash into KEEP and SELL.

I have about 18 bins of yarn for you to pick through. I tried to spread it out a little. :)

Each bin is labeled with a price, like $2.- or $3.- or $5.-.

There is one small  $1.- bin....it's the acrylic, what can i say.

There's also a small amount of cotton. Most of the yarn however is all natural fiber, wool, merino, alpaca, and blends thereof. I have a bunch of sweater quantities, and cones, and kits.

This week, I sorted all my pattern leaflets, and came up with a whole binder full of patterns I'm giving away. Today I am going over my books one more time and pricing them. I love my knitting library and probably won't sell a lot of it. But there will be some free books, and everything else will be priced between $5 and $10.

As far as Periwinkle Sheep yarns go, there are seconds/discontinueds/orphans and experiments. Everything from worsted to dk to fingering and a couple skeins of laceweight.

I DID NOT LABEL EACH INDIVIDUAL SKEIN. There will be notepaper and pencils on each table, and we will work with the honor system. You will have biodegradable plastic bags available for your convenience, or use your own. Please write down how many skeins from each price category you are getting; it will make cash out easier.

Three wonderful friends are helping me tomorrow, and they will be happy to assist you.

Please note that this is a yard sale and cash only. However I will accept personal checks from people I know. :)
