last night

It's my last night and I am again at the computer in the hotel lobby.

Wait til you see the pictures I'll bring home...I got a glimpse of all the luminaries! We sang Happy Birthday to Elizabeth Zimmermann!

I also met some wonderful Portlanders who helped me out in my booth, brought me lunch, showed me their city, went out to dinner with me, helped me pack up and move out of the convention center.

I am very tired but happy with the way it went, and I can't wait to show you.

Back east Tuesday morning after a night flight out of Portland tomorrow night.

awe

I am quickly blogging from the hotel lobby because my silly computer won't co-operate.
While I have a minute, I wanted to tell you that I have just stood right next to Cookie A, who was in a conversation with Anna Zilboorg; before that, I got Barbara Walker's, Meg Swansen's, and Amy Detjen's picture; then I talked with Nancy Bush; this was at the opening ceremonies.....Lucy Neatby said hi at my booth yesterday.

I am in awe. The collective wisdom, creativity, warmth, camaraderie, of all these knitters is blowing my mind. Stephanie and Tina I have no words for, they have truly outdone themselves by booking an entire convention center and pulling this thing off.. The mayor of Portland has declared this week Sock Knitting Week. There are signs and banners up to announce to the whole city that there is a sock summit going on.

Today, the market was open for two hours, and if it's any indication as to what is going to happen over the next few days...I am bracing myself. (Jess, you sold several bags already!!!) Thank goodness I have the bestest helpers, truly! I am so lucky to be here.

I am very happy to announce that my Luminary Panel colorways donation was raffled off for $250.- and the happy winner is going around collecting autographs from all the members.

I have to sign off now, there are other people waiting to get on. Don't know when I get to blog again. (I can tell you there is a whole lot of twittering going on all around me!)

TTFN!
