As you may already know, I've been invited to do a yarn bombing for a local arts event this Saturday, called Art on Lark.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to take photographs and measure this fence and its surroundings, trying to see what I could cover or embellish with knitting and crocheting.
Parts of the fence are very ornate so I am going to leave them alone.
There are also some chairs and a table in the front yard of the building, ideal for weaving strands of yarn through
so Crafty Girl and I went down the other day and got started with it.
Also, the signpost needed something....
Art on Lark is this Saturday, June 9th, from 10 to 5. I will have a table right in front the Lark Street BID office, with some yarn and needles, so we can keep knitting. There are trees and a couple of bike racks. If you have yarn leftovers or partial skeins, bring those too. The possibilities are endless! Oh yes, and a yarn sewing needle and a pair of scissors are definitely helpful too.
Come knit in public with me, to kick off Knit in Public Week, and let's do some yarn bombing while we're at it. I have permission from the organizers to keep going beyond what I'm already attaching to the fence before the event starts.
See you Saturday!!
